[23rd April 2023] Huawei have launched its Spring flagship product, the Mate X3 foldable phone, which will be available for purchase starting April 7th in China Mainland.
The phone weighs only 239g and is IPX8 water-resistant. It features a rear camera with a “Universe Skylight” design, paired with innovative materials and a super-light body structure. The Mate X3 comes in three colors: Feather Sand Black, Feather Sand White, and Feather Sand Purple, as well as two ultra-thin synthetic leather materials: Gold and Green.
It is equipped with a new double-rotating water-drop hinge and ultra-thin Type-C, with a thickness of only 5.3mm when unfolded. The phone has a 4800mAh battery (5060mAh for the Mate X3 Collector’s Edition), supports 66W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 7.5W wireless reverse charging. The rear camera features a 50-megapixel main camera (Sony IMX766), a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens (Sony IMX688), and a 12-megapixel 5x periscope telephoto lens (Sony IMX688), with super-sensing XMAGE imaging.
The phone uses Kunlun glass for the outer and super-resistant flexible inner screen, both of which support 1440Hz PWM dimming, and the outer screen supports LTPO. The phone also features Lingxi (灵犀) communication, including antennas, networks, and algorithms, and supports two-way BeiDou satellite messages. It runs on HarmonyOS 3.1 and is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor, LPDDR5 memory, and 12GB UFS 3.1 flash memory.
