According to previous leaks, the entire Apple iPhone 15/Pro series will feature a Dynamic Island design, which means completely eliminating the previous notch screen and replacing it with a “pill-shaped” punch-hole screen.
This afternoon, TF International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo announced that although all iPhone 15/Pro models will adopt the same Dynamic Island design as the iPhone 14 Pro series, the difference is that the iPhone 14 Pro will place the proximity sensor (used for functions such as pocket wake-up) under the screen/outside the Dynamic Island, while the iPhone 15/Pro series will place the proximity sensor inside the Dynamic Island with almost no change in the area.
Kuo also stated that IQE will replace Landmark as the exclusive supplier of epi wafers for the proximity sensors in the iPhone 15/Pro series.
According to previous leaks, although the iPhone 15 standard version and iPhone 15 Plus will receive the new Dynamic Island design, they will retain the standard 60Hz refresh rate screen and do not support AOD display. Another differentiating factor is the chip – the iPhone 15 Pro model is expected to upgrade to the A17 Bionic, while the iPhone 15 standard model will upgrade to the 2022 A16 Bionic chip.
