The latest rumors on Apple’s iPhone 15 series revealed the new display design. Three front glass panels leaked by Sonny Dickson suggest that the entire iPhone 15 series will feature Dynamic Island design.
The leaks also indicate that the iPhone 15 Pro series will have a thinner, uniform 1.55mm four-sided border on the entire display screen.
Although the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models will receive the new Dynamic Island design, they will retain the standard 60Hz refresh rate screen and will not support AOD display. Another differentiating factor is the chip – the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to be upgraded to A17 Bionic, while the standard iPhone 15 model will be upgraded to the 2022 A16 Bionic chip (Note: currently used in the iPhone 14 Pro series).
According to the CAD rendering of the iPhone 15 Pro, the new Pro models will use a titanium frame instead of a stainless-steel frame for the first time, making them more durable and lighter. Another key feature is the use of solid-state buttons, which will have 3D Touch haptic feedback supported by multiple Taptic Engine motors below to indicate successful presses. Even the mute switch will become a press button – press once to mute and press again to enable sound.
Apple’s iPhone 15 and 15 Plus phones will retain their conventional physical buttons.
